Growing up, country music wasn’t a genre I enjoyed listening to. I grew up listening to rock bands like Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Metallica, and more.
And then around the time I hit my mid teen years, alternative music became more popular to me. Creed, Breaking Benjamin and 3 Doors Down are among my favorites.
I have always been a fan of music, though not all genres. Music has a way of changing moods and giving a person something to relate to. And sometimes it can bring back memories. It certainly does for me.
Only in recent years has country music begun to resonate with me. Some of the songs I enjoy hearing because of a catchy jingle whereas the lyrics in other songs stand out as they were intended. This was originally going to be a “Top 5” list. However, it just became a list of my top 10 favorite songs in the country genre.
My Top 10 Country Music List
- Jason Aldean – Try That in a Small Town
- Jordan Davis – Buy Dirt(feat. Luke Bryan)
- Sam Hunt – Outskirts
- Dustin Lynch – Ridin’ Roads
- Scotty McCreery – Five More Minutes
- Blake Shelton – God’s Country
- Lee Brice – Boy
- Kane Brown – One Mississippi
- Luke Combs – When It Rains It Pours
- Jason Aldean – Dirt Road Anthem
Furthermore, I want to recommend number 7 on the list to all of the fathers of boys out there. If you haven’t listened to the song ‘Boy’ by Lee Brice, you should check it out.
In short, I couldn’t imagine going through a day without listening to music. Recently, my employer has begun to allow my department to listen to music via headphones. However, they must be the bone conducting headphones. And my playlist has slowly begun to grow with more country songs.
